Common questions
Plain answers before you book
01What happens at the first visit?
You talk with your doctor, have a gentle exam, hear what was found and what the options are, and decide what happens next. Treatment starts that day only if you agree. The Plan a first visit page walks through it.
02Is chiropractic care safe?
Every kind of care has some risk. Mild soreness for a day or so is the most common effect. Serious problems are rare but have been reported, including stroke after movements of the neck. Your doctor explains the risks before you decide, tells you what to watch for afterward and changes methods to suit you. Tell your doctor about every medicine you take, including blood thinners.
03Will it hurt?
Our methods use light force. You may feel pressure, and some people are sore afterward, as after unfamiliar exercise. Tell your doctor at once if anything is uncomfortable, and we will change the method or stop.
04How many visits will I need?
Your doctor sets a plan after the exam and reviews it with you as you go. We do not set a number of visits in advance, and you can stop at any time.
05Do you take my insurance?
We bill Medicare and many other plans, and what a plan pays differs from plan to plan. Read How fees work and Medicare and coverage, or call the front desk and we will check your benefits before your first visit.
06What if I do not use insurance?
You have the right to a Good Faith Estimate. We give you a written estimate before your first visit, and your doctor tells you the fee for each part of a visit before it happens.
07Do I need x-rays?
Only when they are medically necessary. Your doctor tells you why before taking one, and you can ask questions or say no.
08Can I bring a family member?
Yes. A family member or friend is welcome in the room for the whole visit. A family member may also call to book for you, and we confirm with you at the visit.
09What if I am seeing another provider?
Tell us who they are. With your written permission we share information with your other doctors, and we ask that you tell them about the care you receive here.
10What is your cancellation policy?
Please call as early as you can to change or cancel a visit. Ask the front desk about the practice's policy.
Ready to plan a visit?
Tell us how and when to reach you. The front desk will call to find a time.
