Chiropractic for older adults

Gentle chiropractic care, explained before we begin

We use low-force, hands-on methods and name each one plainly before we use it. You can ask questions, bring a family member and stop at any time.

Care that goes at your pace

Ridgeline has two offices, in Draper and Sandy. Our doctors use low-force methods, take time to explain them and leave each choice to you. Family members are welcome in the room.

  • A practitioner presses on the back of a woman stretching forward on a mat

    Gentle adjusting

A light, quick movement by hand or with a small hand-held instrument, while you sit or lie on your side.

  • A man in a white shirt raises the arm of a woman seated on a treatment table beside an anatomy poster

    Posture and movement

Easy exercises and positioning advice you can do in a chair or at home, shown step by step.

  • A practitioner's hands press on the back of a person lying face down in a black T-shirt

    Soft-tissue work

Slow, hands-on work on tight muscles, at a pressure you set.

Methods, named plainly

What we do, and how it feels

  • Hand adjusting

Your doctor places a hand on a joint and gives a short, light movement. It takes little force, and you can ask to sit or lie on your side.

  • Hand-held instrument

A small spring-loaded tool gives a very light tap to a joint. It suits people who prefer no twisting or stretching.

  • Flexion-distraction table

A padded table moves in sections while you lie face down, stretching the low back in a slow rhythm.

  • Joint mobilization

Slow, repeated movement of a joint within its comfortable range, with no quick thrust.

How we work

Your doctor explains first

Before any new method, your doctor tells you what it is, what you may feel and what the risks are, then waits for your yes. If something feels wrong, say so and we stop.

  • We ask before each new method

  • Someone you trust can stay with you

  • X-rays only when medically necessary
